Position Title: Commercial Plumbing Foreman
Reports To: Plumbing Supervisor

Position Summary
The Commercial Plumbing Foreman serves as a critical leader on-site, responsible for overseeing the completion of plumbing work on job sites while ensuring adherence to safety standards, project schedules, and quality specifications. This role involves providing direction to the plumbing crew, managing project resources, and coordinating with other team members and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes. The Foreman plays a pivotal role in mentoring less experienced plumbers, fostering teamwork, and driving operational excellence on each project.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Consistently embody and promote the values and mission of Ames Construction, serving as a role model for integrity, excellence, and collaboration.
- Supervise and direct the plumbing crew to ensure effective and efficient work processes on-site.
- Communicate manpower needs with the Plumbing Supervisor to maintain project schedules and milestones.
- Serve as the primary point of contact on-site for plumbing-related tasks, ensuring clear communication between team members and stakeholders.
- Review and interpret blueprints, design specifications, and plans to guide the installation and execution of plumbing systems.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes per project plans and specifications.
- Produce and maintain accurate As-Built drawings for each project to document completed work.
- Ensure the timely and organized submission of parts receipts, packing slips, contracts, and invoices.
- Promote and enforce adherence to safety programs and protocols, fostering a culture of safety on the job site.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Train and mentor less experienced plumbers, fostering skill development and professional growth within the team.
- Promote a collaborative and positive work environment to encourage teamwork and high morale among crew members.
- Provide regular feedback and performance assessments to team members to support continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements, cost savings, and process efficiencies on-site.
- Collaborate with other foremen, supervisors, and project managers to address challenges and implement best practices.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in commercial construction, with a strong background in plumbing.
- Master Plumber or Journeyman’s certification required.
- Completion of OSHA 10-hour training preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to supervise and mentor team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, plans, and design specifications.
- Familiarity with safety and quality standards in the construction industry.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (subject to MVR background check).
