HVAC Estimator & Project Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Commercial HVAC Estimator & Project Manager

Position Summary

Review prints and specifications to provide HVAC estimates, award subcontracts, review job budgets, and provide job status updates to HVAC supervisors.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates for both hard bid and negotiated projects.
• Provide estimate breakdowns for job costing prior to project commencement.
• Obtaining required municipal approvals, permits and licenses as required.
• Preparing monthly invoices on time.
• Report job progress and any necessary modifications of plans to all necessary parties.
• Document and communicate change orders.
• Review job costs-to-date and costs-to-complete.
• Award subcontracts and purchase material buyouts for jobs
• Approve subcontractor and supplier invoices.
• Provides drawings, work scopes, specification, shop drawings, etc. to field personal on time according to communicated schedules.
• Weekly Meetings with Install Manager to discuss won jobs, budgets and hours expected for completion.
• Work with HVAC Supervisors and project team in supplying lead times for materials.
• Assist HVAC Supervisors by checking on reported difficulties.
• Maintain project file with all important documents and correspondence.
• Responsible for warranty communication, submitting, close out packages, and follow-up on completed contracts.
• Responsible for processing and returning un-used or warranty material.
• Keep a current list of qualified viable subcontractors/ vendors.
• Supply information for client sales presentations and negotiations.
• Perform all other task/duties as specified by management

Qualifications

• Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Possess basic computer and e-mail skills.
• Be accurate and be able to follow procedures.
• Be able to read and discern specifications and technical blueprints.
• Two to five years minimum HVAC estimating experience.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record (MVR background check)
• OSHA 10-hour training (preferred)
