POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Project Manager
Position Summary
Responsible for managing commercial construction projects from start to finish, on time and within budget. Works with the leadership team and job supervisor to establish project budgets and timelines, and manages construction projects to customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Consistently lives out and advances the values and mission of Ames Construction
- Manages and oversees more than one project at a time as needed
- Ensures projects are completed to contract specifications and within company guidelines/policies
- Communicates well and builds strong, positive relationships with engineers, architects, customers, subcontractors, team members, staff and all involved parties
- Works with estimating department to ensure projects are bid correctly and to ensure a profitable result
- Organizes, coordinates and assists preconstruction efforts
- Bids, performs scope analysis, negotiates, creates, and issues subcontracts
- Works collaboratively with the job supervisor/foreman to provide field oversight and meet project goals/objectives
- Implements corrective measures when needed to manage financial aspects of contracts and to protect the company’s interest
- Creates and utilizes reports to track work progress, costs and scheduling
- Works to ensure safety measures are being met and projects are in compliance with codes and other required regulations
- Updates and manages the project budget and schedule
- Manages submittals, RFI’s, warranties and all other required processes
- Maintains excellent, regular and timely communication with customers and works to exceed customer expectations
- Takes continuing education courses to enhance job performance
Non-Essential Functions
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested
Qualifications
- At Minimum of 2-5 years of successful commercial construction project management experience – a track record of effectively and profitably managing multiple projects simultaneously, essential
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction, required
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills, essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, desired
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office & ComputerEase, desired
- Demonstrated community involvement, preferred
